RED ELF
THE SCENARIOS

Scenarios 1-4 are minor battles that took place during the War of the Beard. Each focuses on a different aspect of the war, from ambushes and sieges, to last stands. They are a mix of Warhammer and Warmaster scenarios so players can get a taste of this historical event in both game systems.

While the scenarios can be played with your existing scenery, you may want to make a few scenery pieces specifically for the War of the Beard. One of the special pieces you might need is a castle for the Razing of Athel Maraya scenario. You can use an existing Warhammer Fortress, but to really get that special feel a custom made High Elf fortress would really make this scenario stand out.

(rus) Mega-Battle : Battle for Tor Alessi

The final battle that takes place in the War of the Beard happens at the Elven city of Tor Alessi on the western coast of the Old World. Here the King of the High Elves and the Dwarfs along with the massive might of both their armies met in a titanic conflict, that only ended with the death of the High Elf king Caledor at the hand of the Dwarf king Gotrek Starbreaker.

This scenario is a pitched battle to the finish. All you have to do is line up the High Elf army on one side and the Dwarf army on the other and go at it. Here are some tips we've learned that make mega-battles go smoothly and keeps them a lot of fun!

  • Make sure each player has a couple units to control. Give command of the General of each side to the most enthusiastic and loudest player (conversely you can give it to the person who never gets to do anything and let them have the spotlight for a day).
  • Put a time limit on each side. Give players 5 minutes to move their troops, 5 minutes to work out magic, 5 minutes to work out shooting, and 10 minutes to work out combat.
  • Have the players who regularly play Dwarfs and High Elves write up some warcrys and slogans that should be bellowed during the game.
  • Have fun with it. Don't argue about rules, or anything else for that matter (unless it is a debate to see if High Elves wear skirts all the time). Keep the game going, roll off any rules disputes on the spot. To facilitate this you should nominate one neutral person to run the battle, yelling out how much time players have to execute actions, resolve combats, and finish talking their strategy.
