Every Company within the Chapter, with the exception of the Scout Company, has a small number of Dreadnoughts. Not only are these venerable and mighty warriors an important part of the Company's fighting strength, they are also a living embodiment of its history and traditions. Every Dreadnought is assigned an identification number although this is quite superfluous as each one is a famous hero of the Chapter and even raw recruits know the names and histories of all of the Chapter's Dreadnoughts.

Each Dreadnought displays the badge of his Company and bears a banner bordered in the Company colour. The Company badge simply displays the Company number and colour code. The banner also shows the Dreadnought's identification number and usually bears a motto or name scroll.
