RED ELF
BATTLE FOR TOR ALESSI

In the final days of the War of the Beard, the High Elves found themselves in a rout, not able to stand long against the Dwarfs who were single-mindedly bent on vengeance. They gave the High Elves no quarter and blood ran wherever the two met.

The Dwarfs' slow but steady advance across the Old World eventually was stalled at the walls of Tor Alessi. Here the soaring Elven spires and masterly-crafted walls stood fast against the Dwarf war machines.

It was the combined skills of the Dwarf Engineers and Miners that eventually breached the walls, and with the arrival of their king, Gotrek Starbreaker, all knew this would be the last battle - the High Elves would concede defeat, or die on their axes.

MEGA BATTLE

Overview: Both armies are fully prepared for battle and their goal is simple - wipe out their enemy and reap their vengeance!

Armies: Both armies are chosen using the Warhammer Army lists found in White Dwarf #264, #265, and #266. As many units are placed on the table as possible without regard to points values.

Each side may take two Lord choices and up to six Heroes choices.

One of the Lord choices on each side must be chosen as the General of the army.

Battlefield: Lay out the terrain in any mutually agreeable manner.

DEPLOYMENT

1. The High Elf side sets up first as they have prepared their defenses of Tor Alessi. This also means that bulwarks and defended obstacles may be set up with an High Elf archer units.

2. Once the High Elf side has set-up the Dwarf players may deploy their forces.

3. All units should be at least 24" from the opposing deployment zone.

4. All war machines in a player's army are deployed at the same time, though they can be deployed in different parts of the battlefield.

5. Champions are deployed with their unit, all other characters in the army are deployed after all other units, all at the same time.

6. Scouting units are not deployed with the rest of the units. Instead they are placed on the table after all units in both armies have been deployed, as described in the rules for Scouts.

Who goes first? The High Elf players get to go first.

Length of game: The game lasts until one side concedes defeat or are reduced to less then 10 models.

Special rules: To represent the titanic battle between Gotrek Starbreaker and Caledor, the Generals of the army must spend their turns advancing toward one another until a charge can be made and their titanic battle fought. This also means that neither General can join a unit nor will any other unit or character attempt to impede, cast magic or shoot at the advancing Generals (everyone is in too much awe of these imposing characters). When one of the Generals perishes in combat, each unit in their army must take a panic check.

Victory conditions: Which ever side concedes defeat loses or is reduced to 10 models.
